UHERO's construction industry forecast is decidedly rosy, finally getting past the "green shoots" analysis we have seen for the last few years and showing real growth.  Some highlights from UHERO's public summary:

1.  Residential construction is expected to pick up this year and next

2.  Photovoltaic construction continues lead the surge in non-residential permitting, but private commercial construction is also expected to grow.

3.  publicly financed construction will provide only "middling" contributions to growth, but this does not include rail.

3.  Real commitments to build are expected to rise by 23.5% this year and more than 20% in 2014.

In UHERO's words, "construction and the general Hawaii economy are gathering a head of ssteam and should overcome the merdate inertia coing from public sector retrenchment."

Good news for the industry.
